PLAYWRIGHT

I began writing plays in 2001, and joined a cooperative, developmental writing group, Playwrights' Platform Boston. For the past four years I have my plays read by actors on stage for the first time, followed by feedback from the audience. As Interim President of Playwright’s Platform, I play an active role in building a supportive community for new playwrights.

PSYCHODRAMATIST

While practicing as a psychotherapist, I discovered psychodrama as a dramatic method for inspiring growth and healing, and I used action methods in individual and group therapy for many years. I’m a Certified Psychodramatist and a Fellow in the American Society for Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama ASGPP.

DIARIST

In addition to my own journals, I’ve been keeping diaries for each of my three children for twenty years. In 2001, I published my non-fiction book, Before You Forget – The Wisdom of Writing Diaries for Your Children. It’s available on Amazon.com or by e-mailing redpailpress@aol.com

WORKSHOP FACILITATOR

I’ve been facilitating Diary Door Writing Workshops for twenty-five years for adults and children. These workshops blend personal growth counseling, journal therapy, creativity coaching and psychodrama. I have a Master’s Degree in Education from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education, and a B.A. in English from the University of Mass., Amherst.
