Check out Kelly's StageDoor Blog RECENT PRODUCTIONS AND AWARDS - 2009: ROCKY & SKYE Wins 2nd Place in North Dakota YOUTH EDUCATION ON STAGE FESTIVAL Selections from The Adventures of Rocky & Skye, Ratani & Grant, Kelly's new one-act collection of comic skits for youth, was one of nine plays performed by students aged 7-18 at the 4th annual SUMMER SHORTS Festival at the Old Armory Theatre, Williston North Dakota June 23-24-25, 2009. Each of the plays was given three performances, attended by more than 300 people, and adjudicated each night by a different panel of five community theatre, high school and college theater artists who scored the plays. A 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place was awarded, as well as an over-all Audience Award- Popular Vote.
Kelly's new short comedy, ENVIA! At Work & Play, was produced as part of the ENVIA!, a young woman of theatrical and artistic tendencies, will be played by Actors-in-Residence Renee Donlon, Alli Ritts, Linda Sughrue, and Franci DuMar in 4 short comic monologues, including:

Your Support January 31, 2009, Cambridge, MA: Kelly's new one-act play, BlueBird will be presented in a staged reading as part of the First (W)Rites Series sponsored by Playwrights' Platform, at The Cambridge Center for Adult Education, Harvard Square, Sat. January 31 at 8 p.m. Combining dance, drama, music, storytelling and song, BlueBird is an original fable about a beautiful, rare bird who must find a way to escape when she is captured
by her reflection in an admirer’s glass.
This developmental performance directed by Kelly, features Perri DuMar (BLUEBIRD), Joe Orrigo (BIRDER), and original songs and choreography by Dara Eagle. PLAYWRIGHT
I began writing plays in 2001, and joined a cooperative, developmental writing group, Playwrights' Platform Boston. For the past four years I have my plays read by actors on stage for the first time, followed by feedback from the audience. As Interim President of Playwright’s Platform, I play an active role in building a supportive community for new playwrights. PSYCHODRAMATIST While practicing as a psychotherapist, I discovered psychodrama as a dramatic method for inspiring growth and healing, and I used action methods in individual and group therapy for many years. I’m a Certified Psychodramatist and a Fellow in the American Society for Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama ASGPP. DIARIST In addition to my own journals, I’ve been keeping diaries for each of my three children for twenty years. In 2001, I published my non-fiction book, Before You Forget – The Wisdom of Writing Diaries for Your Children. WORKSHOP FACILITATOR I’ve been facilitating Diary Door Writing Workshops for twenty-five years for adults and children. These workshops blend personal growth counseling, journal therapy, creativity coaching and psychodrama. I have a Master’s Degree in Education from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education, and a B.A. in English from the University of Mass., Amherst. PLAY CREDITS Weekend at the Dreaming Cloud, a finalist in the John Gassner New Play Festival, Stony Brook University, NY, 2005, and the Boston Actors Theater, 2006, was selected by Yellow Taxi Productions as one of four finalists for the Susan McIntyre Play Festival. It will have a staged reading on April 16, 2007 in Nashua, NH. Kelly won the Playwrights' Choice Award two years in a row (for Bloom, and New Digs.) Recent Play Credits: Hothouse, a finalist for the Arts and Letters Prizes of the Journal of Contemporary Culture, The Nantucket Short Play Competition, and the Robert Lehan One-Act Award, was produced by the Hovey Summer Arts Festival, 2005 and published by Heuer Publishing (www.hitplays.com). Bloom, produced by Philipstown Depot One Act Festival and the Samuel French Off Off Broadway Festival 2005, was published by Heuer publishing. What We Save, a one-act play, was produced by the Hovey Summer Arts Festival, 2006. Currently, Kelly has just finished writing her full-length play, Away Message.
